Meretz Meets PA Leaders in Ramallah

For the first time in many years I went to Ramallah, together with a group of around 70 Meretz activists, to meet with senior Palestinian spokesperson Dr. Nabil Shaath in the Muqata, which most of us remember as Arafat’s headquarters during the 2^nd intifada. The very timely and I think important encounter was initiated and organized by Dr. Meir Margalit, a Meretz member of the Jerusalem Municipal Council.

Since the encounter took place during Ramadan, the Palestinians apologized for their inability to display their usual gastronomic hospitality, but since this was just the first of a series of meetings, they promised to compensate in the future.
